Turkish Language and Literature Department was founded in 1969 by Prof. Dr Şükrü ELÇİN. In our department, in addition to the undergraduate program, master's and doctorate programs are carried out in the fields of Classical Turkish Literature, Turkish Language and Modern Turkish Literature. In addition to traditional language and literature courses, the department program also includes elective courses that aim to prepare students for business life after graduation in a versatile way, and educational activities are supported by conferences, research and application trips. Exchange agreements have been signed with many universities abroad. Thus, the opportunity to study abroad for one or two semesters is offered. In addition, the opportunity to attend the minor and double major programs simultaneously is provided to students who meet the necessary conditions. The education language of the department is Turkish, but English preparatory education is given for one year to the students who want it.
